september 3rd, 2008

Yeah, its been ages (december!!?) since I posted anything… Ive been mad busy djing, producing, touring, etc.But wanted to give a quick heads up.My second single off the IN GUMBO album was released in june, incl. The Juan Maclean and Trentemøller remixes. You should be able to find plenty of links on the blogs for that - or buy it from BeatPort - its out on Plant Music. Ive done quite a few remixes lately, some of them will be out later this year - some next year. Among them are Trentemøller, The Faint, The Ting Tings and I am finishing a mix for danish heroes Lulu Rouge in the next couple of days. And oh, Filur - the duo run by Tomas TomBoy Barfod and myself, have released a single, supporting the upcoming Greatest Hits album (out jan. 09) - Yep, you got it right the first time - we are releasing a double comp. incl all the singles +alot of remixes - from names ranging from The Emperor Machine to Play Paul - some of them never officially released before. Here is the link for the video to the Filur single “20 Lashes” feat. Prins Nitram!

Im now starting production of my next album - going to New York in Sept/Oct to record with Dennis Young and Kap10Kurt, before going deeper into the studio for some months.  So hopefully there will be an album out by the end of summer next year.Kasper

Future Music (UK) Review

november 14th, 2007

After a decade of gigging in Tokyo, Barcelona and New York, Copenhagen DJ and
producer Kasper Bjorke departs from his joint Filur project to release his own
debut album. Successfully leaping the metaphorical viaduct that lies between DJ and
recording artist, Bjorke’s In Gumbo succeeds by delving deeper into the
vagaries of dance music to craft a series of edgy, seedy disco, techno and
electro tracks.Bjorke wisely enlists collaborators including Blake (ex-Gus Gus) to supply
vocals, and whilst In Gumbo begins tepidly, the album soon blossoms into an
adventurous, dark and moody record with plenty of sophisticated and well-
developed ideas.
